Christian Documents

In the 17th century, the Anti-Christian Edicts were issued in Japan. Amid the intensifying repression against Christianity, 42 people in Kuchinotsu expressed their determination to martyrdom in a jointly sealed covenant. There is also a letter written by a Christian in Arima in response to a letter of encouragement from Pope Paulus V, expressing his gratitude to the Pope and swearing his faith in Christianity.
