天才芸術家ミケランジェロが1534年から63年にかけて自らのために書いた111ページに及ぶ詩編。自筆によるもので、なかにはうっすらとデッサンも残っている。筆跡も内容も、画家の心情を知る上でたいへん貴重な資料となっている。

This collection of 111 pages of letters, essays, and poems was handwritten by the great artist Michelangelo, for his own use, between 1534 and 1563. It also contains a few of his original sketches. Both sketches and texts provide precious information concerning the artist’s feelings.
